Gregory Lewis has always had a passion for classical music, and began playing violin at the age of five. He frequently competes, receiving top awards in many Ontario provincial final competitions, including first prize in the 2010 ORMTA Provincial Student Instrumental Competition, the Esther Su Memorial Scholarship for being ‘the most promising performer in all divisions of the 2013 ORMTA Provincial Finals’, and a bronze medal in the highest category of strings performance in the OMFA Provincial Finals. Gregory has appeared as a soloist with the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, and has upcoming solo performances with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and the University of Manitoba Symphony Orchestra.

Having received his ARCT Diploma in Violin Performance through the Royal Conservatory of Music, Gregory now resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he is currently studying his Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance at the University of Manitoba with Dr. Oleg Pokhanovski. While in Winnipeg, Gregory has become quite involved in chamber music, as well as maintained a strong interest in orchestral music. After giving up his position as the concert master of the Thunder Bay Symphony Youth Orchestra, Gregory is now a member of the 2014 National Youth Orchestra of Canada, the University of Manitoba Symphony Orchestra, and has performed as an extra for the Winnipeg Youth Symphony Orchestra.
