Erika Dalton: 2nd Prize, Violin, Cat.B | 2015


Erika Jane Dalton (15) of Las Vegas is a Carnegie Hall soloist, has been playing violin for over eleven years, currently studies under Miss De Ann Letourneau, and is a 10th grade straight-A student at Las Vegas Academy of the Arts. Erika is the concertmaster for the Las Vegas Academy Philharmonic. She has won numerous violin competitions including first place in the American Protégé International Competition of Romantic Music, the Las Vegas Philharmonic Young Artists’ Concerto Competition, the Nevada Chamber Symphony String Competition, the Utah Valley Young Artists Competition and the Oquirrh Mountain Symphony Concerto Competition. She has performed in concerts and festivals in Japan, Canada, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Utah, and also in master-classes with world-class violinists such as Itamar Zorman, Frederic Moreau and Albert Igolnikov.

Erika performed the national anthem at the Utah Jazz NBA game. She was awarded the prestigious Emerson Scholarship to attend Advanced String Quartet Program at Interlochen Arts Camp this summer. Erika is founder of the volunteer organization Golden Harmony which utilizes musical performances to enhance the lives of those suffering from Alzheimer's and Dementia.
