Guitarist Conor Padmanabhan, age 13, of Palo Alto, California, has been a prizewinner in the Sierra Nevada Guitar Competition, the Pacific Musical Society Competition, and the Menuhin-Dowling Young Musicians Competition. He was the youngest finalist in the 2016 Solo Competition of the San Francisco section of the American String Teachers Association. Selected by audition, Conor has performed as a soloist in the Junior Bach Festival for four consecutive years beginning in 2013. In 2014, he was soloist with the Palo Alto School District's Honors String Orchestra. Conor has also performed as a soloist for the Sacramento Guitar Society and has played in masterclasses for Ben Verdery, Richard Savino, Andrew York, and the Beijing Guitar Duo, among others. He frequently performs in recital and in informal performances as a volunteer at a local assisted-living center. In the summers of 2015 and 2016, Conor studied both solo and ensemble repertoire in Ben Verdery’s Maui Masterclass in Maui, Hawaii. Conor is a student of Scott Cmiel at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s Pre-College Division, where he also studies music theory, vocal ensemble, and chamber music in a guitar quartet.
