The Bach Trio, with Pierce Wang on violin, Ryan Har on cello, and Josephine Chan on piano, has been performing together since the fall of 2014. Coached by Prof. Timothy Bach of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM), the trio has performed in venues around the San Francisco Bay Area and taken first place at the 2016 Diablo Valley College Chamber Music Competition. Additionally, the trio members have performed and competed as soloists. Pianist Josephine Chan, age 13, was a prizewinner in the 2015 Virginia Waring International Piano Competition, the 2015 Enkor International Piano Competition, the 2015 Pacific Musical Society Scholarship Competition, and others. She studies piano with Prof. Corey McVicar at the SFCM. Violinist Pierce Wang, age 13, was a guest on NPR, From the Top (FTT), radio program taping show #284 Rochester, NY, and the WXXI Backstage Live radio show, performing H.W. Ernst’s Der Erlkönig, as well as a first place winner in the 2014 Pacific Musical Society Competition and the 2013 Menuhin-Dowling Music Competition. Pierce is a student of Prof. Wei He of SFCM and previously studied with Davis Law of SFCM, Pre-college. Cellist Ryan Har, age 14, has taken masterclasses from cellist Ben Hong at the United States International Music Competition Festival and was a first prize winner at the Korean Times Youth Music Competition in 2011. Ryan is studying the cello under Mr. Eric Sung.
