Xingni Xiao was born from a musical family. She started learning to play piano when she was four years old and learning to play harp at 9 years old. Ms. Xiao obtained her bachelor degree from Moores School of Music at University of Houston where she was a student of Paula Page, former Houston Symphony Principal Harpist. She was the recipient of Winifred and Maurice Hirsch Memorial Scholarship, The Joint Chinese College alumni association Scholarship, Wen-Chih Shieh Memorial Scholarship. She will go to Boston University for her Master of Music degree in Fall 2016. She is the recipient of full grant scholarship, and will be a student of Jessica Zhou, Boston Symphony principal harpist. Ms. Xiao's competition credits include first-place of American Protege International Concerto Competition, the second-place of American Fine Arts Festival Concerto Competition, the second-place in the Senior Division of the TexASTA Solo Competition, Honorable Mention of Young Texas Artist Competition, and winner of the second harpist audition of Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, China. Ms. Xiao has attended to some prestigious summer festivals such as Bowdoin International Music Festival, Marrowstone Music Festival, and American Festival for the Arts. She was also a member of Aura Contemporary Ensemble.
