Ignacio Mañá Mesas is a Spanish saxophonist and composer who is currently studying in Manchester. In Spain, he received many awards both as a saxophonist and a composer, such as the First Prize in 'Intercentros Melómano' music performance competition in Castilla y León in 2012, he played as a soloist with an orchestra and a wind band and he played for the Spanish National Television. After finishing with honours his musical studies at an intermediate-level conservatoire in Ponferrada (Spain) in 2015, receiving the Extraordinary Prize for the best mark in his region and a nomination for the National Music Award, he was accepted at prestigious Chetham's School of Music (Manchester) in September 2015. There, he had chances to offer solo recitals at some of the most important venues in the country such as The Bridgewater Hall and he will be playing Glazunov's Saxophone Concerto as a soloist with a Wind Band in July. He has recently received offers and scholarships from the University of Cambridge, Royal College of Music and Royal Academy of Music to further his musical studies.
