Lydia Walquist, principal flutist with Protege Philharmonic, principal flutist with Youth Symphony of Dupage, recipient of 2017 Society of American Musicians (1st place) prize award, 2017 MPulse Scholarship, 2017 Alice S. Pfaelzer award to attend the Conservatory at Merit School of Music, Mary Staton Scholarship through OSU, Nagursey Tucker Memorial Scholarship through Amer Wind Band, placed in multiple concerto competitions multiple years: SAM, DePaul University 2017 Concerto Festival, 2017 Protege Philharmonic Concerto Competition, Youth Sym of Dupage Concerto, Chicago Flute Club Annual Student Competition, Sherwood Academy (1st rating).

She has performed with the Capital City Flute Orchestra in Washington DC, Flute Jamboree at Kennedy Center of Performing Arts (Wash DC), ""Making Music"" at Chicago Grant Park , Eastman School of Music Bonita Boyd Flute Workshop (NY), Ohio State Flute Workshop as opening soloist, soloist at Chicago Flute Club members showcase, Masterclasses with piccolist Nicola Mazzanti, flutist Bonita Boyd, Katherine Borst Jones, Zart Combourian-Eby, Valerie Coleman, Marianne Gedigian, Drop-In Trios with Mimi Stillman.
She currently studies flute under Susan Levitin and is a Sophomore in high school.
