Ernest Lai is a 5th grader from Massachusetts, USA. He began taking piano lessons at age of six, and is currently studying under Ms. Valerie Henkin. Over the past four and half years of training, his interest in classical music has grown tremendously. He won the third prize in VIII and IX Chopin International Piano Competition, Hartford, CT in 2017 and 2018, respectively. And in 2018 he won Honorable Mention in the Bay State Piano Contest in Massachusetts. Also as one of the outstanding students in Massachusetts, he performed at New England Piano Teachers’ Association’s annual recital in 2017 and 2018. Besides piano, Ernest plays clarinet and is an active member of his school band. In his free time, he loves to read and play tennis.
