Juling Wang, Age 14
USA
Score: 86.25

Juling Wang is a freshman at Scarsdale High School, and has studied under Elizabeth Faidley since 2015. She has participated in a number of symphonic and chamber groups, including the Greater Westchester Youth Orchestra and All-County Music Festival. In May, she performed Mendelssohn concerto with the Yonkers Philharmonic. Recently, she placed first in the New York Artists International Competition, successfully completed a Kreisler stage collaboration with concert violinist Katie Lansdale, accompanied Georgian performer Lisa Batiashvili's Prokofiev Concerto No. 2, and concluded an exceptional masterclass with maestro Ray Chen.

Locally, Juling has showcased and competed with self-produced short films, sensory artworks, and personal essays. She reads everything from National Geographic to TIME to powerful fiction, and enjoys backpacking all over the country, though her athleticism is poor and highly questionable.
