Kelvin Jiang, 13, an 8th grader at Jane Lathrop Stanford Middle School, is a scholarship student at SFCM, Pre College division, studying piano with Meikui Matsushima. He frequently appears at the school recitals and is often chosen to play Solo or Piano Duo for the school's Show Case Concerts. He also performed at the school's Kick-off concert with college students and faculties. He was selected to perform at Junior Bach Festival in 2014, and won Honorable Mention and Second Price respectively for the Annual SF Chopin Competition for Young Pianists in 2014 and 2016. Recently he received Honorable Mention for Peninsula Symphony's 13th Annual Marilyn Mindell Piano Competition held at Stanford University. He is also an avid baseball player. Currently he is on the prestigious Palo Alto Babe Ruth roster, and is also seriously involved in Palo Alto Little League by being an assistant coach to the Major team who won the City Championship this season, as well as an experienced umpire for numerous games within the League.
