Malcolm Liu is a 20-year old piano major at the University of Kansas, where he studies with Dr. Scott McBride Smith. He won Third Prize in the 2014 International Institute for Young Musicians (IIYM) International Competition, Second Prize in the 2015 Steinway National Precollege Competition (China) and received First Places in both the 2015 Kansas State Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Senior Competition and the 2017 Kansas State and West Central MTNA Young Artist Competition. Recently, He performed in the final concert of the 2018 Naftzger Young Artists Audition and won the Piano Division.
