Noah Pan Stier, 12, is in 6th grade at the Washington International School. He has been playing violin since the age of 3. His teachers are June Huang and Alexandra Mikhlin. Noah has won first place in many competitions, including the Feder Memorial String Competition, the Cogen Concerto Competition, the Marlin-Engel Solo Competition, the NVMTA Concerto Competition, the Concert Artists International Maestro Competition, the Vivo International Youth Competition, the American Fine Arts Festival, and the YMIC Metropolitan Music Festival. He is the violinist in the John S. Martin Trio, which won first place in the Misbin Family Memorial Chamber Competition and the YMIC Metropolitan Chamber Festival, as well as second place in the Enkor International Competition. He also plays first violin in the D.C. Youth Orchestra, and won the orchestra’s concerto competition this year. Noah enjoys reading, chess, and soccer; and has earned his black belt in tae kwon do.
