Ekdev Rajkitkul | 1st Prize | Winds & Percussion | 5th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition

Ekdev Rajkitkul is a junior at Hebron High School, a Texas All-State Alto Saxophone player, and Saxophone section leader with the Hebron Wind Symphony and Hebron Varsity Marching Bands.

In addition to having played the Soprano and Baritone Saxophones early on, Ekdev is a performing member on the Alto Saxophone of the award-winning Quantum Quartet, under the direction and coaching of Mr. Mark Smith.

Notable achievements for the Quartet have included first and second place awards at the Austin Chamber Music Coltman Competition and Houston Underground Saxophone Competition, along with being a featured ensemble at the Bands of America and UIL Marching Competitions.

Soloist achievements include third chair Texas All-State Symphonic Band, first place at the UT Austin Saxophone Academy, and third place at Houston Underground performing the Creston Sonata.

Ekdev’s favorite memories are Sunday night rehearsals with the quartet, and coaching sessions with various saxophone quartets across the country and notable university professors.

May 2019 promises to be a memorable season, performing at the Lincoln Center in New York, and competing at Fischoff, the nation’s largest chamber music competition held at Notre Dame.
