Erin Nishi | 2nd Prize | Violin | 6th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Erin is a 16 year old attending Punahou School in Honolulu, and studies with Hawaii Symphony concertmaster Ignace Jang. Erin is concertmaster of Hawaii Youth Symphony 1 and the Punahou Symphony, and is 1st violinist of the Keller Quartet in the Punahou Chamber Music program. She has performed with the Kamuela Philharmonic, Hawaii Performing Arts Festival Orchestra, and the Maui Chamber Orchestra as a winner of their concerto competitions. She was awarded 1st place in the Music Teachers National Association Senior String 2017 and 2018 state competitions.

Erin also studies piano, beginning at age 5. She has been awarded for her piano playing at the Aloha International Piano Festival, including 1st place at the Oahu Arts Center Mozart piano competition. In her free time, Erin enjoys hula, Japanese tea ceremony, skiing, surfing, sewing, and baking.
