Fiona and Naomi Sun | 2nd Prize | Chamber Music | 6th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Fiona Sun and Naomi Sun are sisters.

Naomi Sun is the principal harpist for San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra. She studies harp under Linda Wood Rollo since the age of 7. In 2015, Naomi began serving the San Jose Youth Symphony as a principal harpist and performed the Dittersdorf harp concerto in 2017. That summer, she performed internationally with the SJYS Philharmonic orchestra throughout Europe, and the Silicon Valley Youth Harp Ensemble in Hong Kong at the National Harp Conference. Since then, Naomi has played with many ensembles, such as the United States Navy Band, California Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Saratoga Symphony, Lyrick Symphony Orchestra, Palo Alto Philharmonic, and Golden State Youth Orchestra. In 2019, she toured with GSYO and performed in halls like the Moscow Conservatory and Shostakovich Symphony Hall.
For the past few years, Naomi has been a winner of the Junior Bach Festival, in both marimba and harp. She is a top prizes winner of the United States International Music Competition several times as well. In 2019, Naomi was the grand prize winner of the United States Navy Band Concerto Competition and performed harp concerto with them. As a winner of the National League of Performing Arts, Naomi has been selected to play as a harp soloist in Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall three times.

Naomi loves harp and marimba. She studies marimba with Tammy Chen. 2019, she won 1st place of Young Artist Award and Special Prize Award - Bach of United State International Music Competition Marimba Category.

Fiona Sun is the Grand Winner of the National League of Performing Arts Chamber Music Competition and a top prize winner of the United States International Music Competition. Fiona is a percussionist of the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra. She has also served as principal percussionist in the Golden State Youth Orchestra Baltic Tour, performing in Sweden, Finland, and Russia. Fiona made her Carnegie Hall debut in the Weill Recital Hall in June 2019. She has performed twice in the Junior Bach Festival and has performed a concerto with the San Jose Youth Symphony. Fiona had the honor to perform in the Rising Stars concert with acclaimed composer Gordon Stout. Fiona Sun studies under renowned percussionist Mr. Anthony J. Cirone and marimba with Tammy Chen.
