Alisa Smith | 2nd Prize | Winds & Percussion | 6th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Alisa Smith is a sophomore undergraduate flute performance major at Carnegie Mellon University, studying under Alberto Almarza. Alisa has attended summer festivals such as Eastern Music Festival (orchestra program), Aria Academy, Galway Flute Festival and Interlochen Arts Camp. Alisa was the principal flutist of the Interlochen World Youth Symphony Orchestra and she was the recipient of the Interlochen Fine Arts Award. She has performed principal flute under conductors JoAnn Falletta, Larry Rachleff, Gerard Schwarz, Jung-Ho Pak, Karina Canellakis, and Carlos Izcaray. Alisa has performed in masterclasses taught by Sir James Galway, Lady Jeanne Galway, Marina Piccinini, Lorna McGhee, Jake Fridkis, Les Roettges, Ann Choomack, Soo-Kyung Park, Alexa Still, John Thorne, Judith Mendenhall, Nancy Stagnitta, Christina Jennings, and Brian Gordon. She currently is a member of the Carnegie Mellon University Philharmonic, under the baton of Andrés Cárdenes.
