Naomi Sun | 2nd Prize | Winds & Percussion | 6th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Naomi, 15 years old, studies percussion/marimba with renowned teacher Anthony J. Cirone and Tammy Chen. She is the 1st Place Young Artist Award winner of United States International Music Competition in marimba category. Her favorite is playing marimba duets with her sister, Fiona Sun, and performing together in new places. Their duet won the chamber music top prize of USIMC and NLPA, and they were invited to perform in 2017, 2019 and 2020 Jr. Bach Festival and 2019 winner concert in Carnegie Hall.

Naomi also likes to play harp. She is the principal harpist of the San Francisco Symphony Youth
Orchestra and Saratoga Symphony, and is an award winning harpist. She has been studying harp with Linda Wood Rollo since she was seven.

Since 2017, Naomi has toured with the San Jose Youth Symphony Philharmonic Orchestra
throughout Europe, the Silicon Valley Youth Harp Ensemble at the Hong Kong World Harp
Congress and National Harp Conference, and the Golden State Youth Orchestra in Europe
and Russia. Other notable performances include the Handel Harp Concerto with the United
States Navy Band as the Solo Competition Grand Prize winner, the Dittersdorf Concerto with
SJYS, and at Carnegie Hall as a Grand Prize winner of the National League of Performing
Arts Young Artists Showcase Competition. Naomi is the top prize winner of the USIMC,
NLPA Showcase Competition, ENKOR international music competition, and Jr. Bach Festival
in both marimba and harp. She won the Gold Prize at the Yvonne La Mothe Schwager Harp
Competition in 2015 and played 1st Harp for the 2020 California All-State Symphony Orchestra.
