Aaron Ma | 3rd Prize | Violin | 7th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Aaron Ma began his music journey by learning piano with his mother, Pianist Hang Li at the age of three. He started his violin studies at the age of five with Ms. Zhao Wei. His talents in music and instrument skills continued to be cultivated through his early childhood.

Aaron currently studies in the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Pre-College Division with both violin and piano, under Ms. Zhao Wei and Dr. William Wellborn. He also plays harpsichord in SFCM with Professor Corey Jamason. Most recently, Aaron was invited to the live audition for the Music@Menlo chamber music festival. Aaron has participated in several music competitions. In 2019, Aaron won 1st place in the 8-10 year old division at the US International Music Competition, and the 2nd place in USOMC elementary division. He was also awarded 1st place in the young prodigy division of USIOMC 2020 and the 1st place of the Best Vivaldi performance in the Great Composers International Music Competition.

Aaron is a scholarship student at Challenger School in Palo Alto. He is also a competitive swimmer with Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics. In his spare time, Aaron loves reading, playing chess, figuring out tricky math problems, and he enjoys playing chamber music with his family.
