Lynca Saito | 3rd Prize | Piano | 7th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Lynca Saito (16) is a Junior at Stuyvesant High School and a student at Manhattan School of Music Pre-College Division. She started her piano lessons at age 7 with Mina Kusumoto, and now studies with Jeffrey Cohen at MSM and Nina Lelchuk at Queens College. She has won numerous competitions and awards, as well as performing at renowned concert halls, such as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, Lincoln Center, Dimenna Center, and Engelman Recital Hall.

In 2020, she received 1st prize of IMO Solo Competition for three consecutive years and 3rd prize of International Grande Music Competition. In 2019, she received the Honorable Mention of Gershwin International Competition, and won 1st Prize of Great Composers Competition, and 2nd Prize of ENKOR International Piano Competition. In 2018, she received 1st Prize of Concert Festival Solo Recital Competition, 1st Prize of BSM Performance Competition, also won 2nd Prize of IMO Concerto Debut Competition and performed Greig Piano Concerto in A-minor, Op. 16 conducted by Eugene Takahashi. In 2016 and 2018, she was granted 1st Prize of the Rondo Vanguard Competition. In 2014, she gave her first solo recital and performed 45-mins program at age 10 as the reward for winning 1st Prize in the Concert Festival Solo Recital Competition. She also received Grand Prix of the Concert Festival International Competition, and Top Medal of AADGT festival. At age 10, she passed ABRSM highest level piano exam with Distinction. In 2013 at age 9, she earned a perfect score at highest level in the NYSSMA piano festival.

Throughout her musical career, she has participated in renowned summer programs and festivals, receiving a countless number of master classes given by Jose Mendez, Ory Shihor, Benjamin Loeb, Gila Goldstein, Melinda Lee Masur, Phillip Kawin, Gabor Farkas, and Alexander Schimpf. In Summer 2018 and 2019, she was admitted to Boston University Tanglewood (BUTI) Young Artist Piano Program. In 2019, she also in Classical Bridge Festival. In Summer 2016 and 2017, she took part in International Keyboard Institute and Festival (IKIF).

Lynca is a member of her high school symphonic band as a flutist. She also belongs to Stuyvesant Piano Club as a vice president, Speech and Debate Club, and Japanese Club. she is also interested in volunteer and community service through the music. She is an active member of Concerts in Motion Youth Leaders Program, and regularly performs in different halls and community centers.
