Megan Tandar | 3rd Prize | Piano | 7th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Megan Tandar,14, is a student in the piano studio of Dr. Vera Oussetskaia-Watanabe. Her previous teachers include Dr. Koji Attwood and Ms. Joanna Oshida.

Megan has received many accolades, including first place in the MTNA Piano Concerto Competition in 2017, first place in the Steinway Competition in 2018, and first place in the Paderewski Competition in 2017 and 2018. Recently, she received 2nd place in the Enkor International Music Competition in the soloist and chamber category. Megan was a finalist in the Seattle International Piano Competition in 2019. She has been selected to performed in the Utah Symphony Youth Guild recitals in 2016, 2017, and 2019. In 2019, she was one of ten participants in the Gina Bachauer International Piano Festival. Megan made her orchestral debut at age 10 the Utah Symphony in their annual Salute to Youth concert. Three years late, in 2019 Megan performed again with the Utah Symphony playing the Mendelssohn Double Violin and Piano Concerto, third movement with Ellen Hayashi, violinist.

Megan has been selected to perform in masterclass with Cedric Pescia, HaeSun Paik, Boris Giltburg, Bruce Bruebaker, Frank Weinstock, Peter Mack, andt others. Megan regularly performs in recitals, recently as soloist with Gina Bachauer International Music Foundation with their Music in the Schools program in 2018-2019 and 2019-2010, with the German-American Society of Utah, the University of Utah Hospital, and private concerts in homes in the community.

Megan holds a 4.0 GPA as a 9th grade student at West High School’s International Baccalaureate Program.
