Xinran Shi, age 10, currently studies with Hans Boepple. She began piano lessons at age 4 1/2. Recenlty, Xinran was the winner of 2020 Marilyn Mindell Piano Competition. Among her 2019 honors were first prizes at the China Grand Canal Piano Art Festival, Pacific Musical Society & Foundation Competition, Steinway Junior Piano Competition, and the Lang Lang Piano Competition, where she was selected to perform in a master class with Lang Lang. She was also selected to perform at the 2019 Junior Bach Music Festival Honors Concert, and was first alternate for the 2019 MTAC solo competition. She was awarded the silver medal at the 2019 Seattle International Piano Competition, where she received the “Teachers’ Favorite” prize at winners' concert. Xinran is a young scholar of 2020-2022 Lang Lang International Music Foundation. Besides playing piano, she loves dancing, reading, drawing and swimming.
