Lena Seitz | 1st Prize | Winds & Percussion | 7th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition

Lena Seitz was born in Karlsruhe in 1999, where she also received her first musical education at the Conservatory. Later, as a student of Mathias Allin (Assistant HfM), she had the opportunity to participate in international masterclasses, among others with Peter-Lukas Graf, Mario Caroli, Stephanie Winker, Ulf-Dieter Schaaff, Michael Faust and Gergely Ittzés. She was awarded the Hermann Levi Prize of the Richard Wagner Association Karlsruhe for outstanding achievements in music. Lena gained experience in various orchestras and performed in many chamber music ensembles; she took part in the State Youth Ensemble for Contemporary Music Baden-Württemberg and the Festivál Akadémia Budapest in the year 2018. She also organized several benefit concerts, in which she herself participated. Lena began studying at the Lübeck University of Music with Prof. Firkins in the winter semester of 2018/2019. The artistic studies brought her further opportunities for development, such as the recording at the radio NDR for the series ""Young Artists in the North"" in 2019. In addition, in January of the year 2020, Lena won the first prize at the youth competition of the Handel Society Karlsruhe. With specially conceived concert formats such as projects on the Climate Crisis or on the role of women in art, the young artist wants to integrate current daily political themes into the concert business and link art forms together. Since October 2020, Lena Seitz is a scholarship holder of the German Scholarship and a member of the funding programme "ClassicPeople".
