Megan Tandar | 3rd Prize | Piano | 8th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Megan has received many accolades, including first place in the MTNA Piano Concerto Competition in 2017, first place in the Steinway Competition in 2018, and first place in the Paderewski Competition in 2017, 2018 and 2020. Recently, she received 2nd place in the Enkor International Music Competition in the soloist and chamber categories. Megan has been selected to performed in the Utah Symphony Youth Guild recitals since 2016. In 2019, she was one of ten participants in the Gina Bachauer International Piano Festival. Megan is an invited participant in the PianoTexas International Piano Festival in 2021.  Megan made her orchestral debut at age 10 with the Utah Symphony in their annual Salute to Youth concert.  In 2019, Megan performed again with the Utah Symphony playing the Mendelssohn Double Violin and Piano Concerto, third movement with Ellen Hayashi, violinist.  

Megan has been playing chamber music for the past three years.  She has performed with Roberto Diaz, Laurie Smukler and Clive Greensmith as a member of the Gifted Music School in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Megan has participated in solo masterclasses with HaeSun Paik, Cedric Pescia, Boris Giltburg, Bruce Bruebaker, Peter Mack, Frank Weinstock, Micah Yui, Peter Miyamoto.  

Megan regularly performs in recitals, recently as soloist with Gina Bachauer International Music Foundation with their Music in the Schools program in 2018-2019, 2019-2020, the German-American Society of Utah, the University of Utah Hospital, and private concerts in homes in the community.  

Megan holds a 4.0 GPA as a 10th grader at West High School’s International Baccalaureate (IB) program. In her spare time, Megan enjoys Speech & Debate.
