Tryphena Li | 2nd Prize | Strings | 7th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Influenced by her mother's passion for the harp, Tryphena started her harp journey at the age of 5 and a half, at the Vancouver Symphony School of Music.  She studies privately with Lani Krantz and Elizabeth Volpe-Bligh and plays with the Kits Wing Ensemble under the direction of Miya Otake.  She has been invited to perform at the Vancouver Harp Day each year since 2019.   

Tryphena has had the great honour to take masterclasses with Mr. Baltazar Juarez, Ms. Nancy Allen and Ms. Lenka Petrovic. 

Tryphena won a silver medal in Vancouver International Music Competition 2021 in String Junior Talent category, and a silver medal in the 6th Hong Kong International Harp Competition 2021.  She has won a Platinum standing in 21st Century Popular Song Age 9 & under, and Gold Standings and a medal of Outstanding Junior Harp Performance and Most Promising Performer in the VAYA Music Festival.  In the Spring 2021, she won two Gold Standings, an Aoyama Harp of Canada Medallion as a Most Promising Performer, and a Gold standing for the Mixed Ensemble in the KPU International Music Festival. And she won the Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festivals Society Medallion for the best overall Ensemble performance 2021.  

In 2019 and 2020, Tryphena won Gold and Silver Standings as well as an Outstanding Performance medallion and Most Outstanding Performer in the KPU International Festival and the Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festival. 

In her free time, Tryphena loves reading, doing crafts, cooking and baking. She enjoys having fun with her little sister, and spending time with her family. In summer time, she loves swimming, playing tennis and having picnics with her friends.
