Alyssa Xu | 2nd Prize | Piano | 6th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


13-year-old Alyssa Xu is an 8th grader at Community Middle School in New Jersey. She started to take piano lessons with Dr. Zhong Chen when she was about 6 and after moving to New Jersey in 2017, started studying piano under Professor Ingrid Clarfield. Alyssa is very thankful to her teachers and the guidance that she has received from them, which has helped shape her into the pianist she is today. She has won a series of piano competitions, such as first prize in the Art of Piano of the Greater Composers Competition Series, second prize in the Young Musicians Future Stars International Piano Competition, third prize in the ENKOR International Piano Competition, and third prize in the Concert Artists International Concerto Competition. She has also performed at prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall and Victoria theater of New Jersey. In her free time, Alyssa likes to read, do math, play with her dog, play video games, and continue to gather stuffed animal penguins to add to her collection.
