Amanda Lau | 3rd Prize | Piano | 6th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Amanda Lau is a 7th grader at Valley Christian Junior High School in San Jose, California. She started learning piano at the age of 8, and currently studies with Mrs. Dorothy Su. Amanda has won several awards including two second places in the Great Composers International Competition during 2018 and 2019. She also was awarded third place in the United States Open Music Competition (USOMC) Showcase Solo during the year of 2018 and 2019. Amanda was selected to perform in the 2018 and 2019 Junior Bach Festival and participated in the MTAC Certificate of Merit Branch Honor and Convention recital. Her most recent accomplishment was a second place in the American Protege International Competition which earned her a chance to perform at Carngie Hall in New York. Amanda is a pianist in the Advanced Strings Chamber Group at Valley Christian. Besides music, Amanda also enjoys reading, writing, and playing ping pong.
