Justin Wahby | 2nd Prize | Piano | 7th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Justin Wahby, age 16, has been playing piano for 11 years. He is a Pre-Collegiate student at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music as a student of John McCarthy, and studies privately with Dr. Natsuki Fukasawa in Sacramento. Among Justin's numerous awards, he was named winner of the 2019 Cecilia Mendez Beethoven Society Competition, received the 2nd Prize Scriabin Award at the 2019 Virginia Waring International Piano Competition, and was the silver medalist in the 2019 Mondavi Young Artists Competition. He has also received top prizes in the Los Angeles Liszt Competition, MTAC Piano Solo Competition, American Protege Piano & Strings Competition, Auburn Young Artist Competition, Alexander and Buono International, Orfeo International Music Competition in Vipiteno, Italy, US Open piano competition, and the USIMC.

Additionally, Justin has had the privilege of performing in masterclasses for Alan Chow, Paul Lewis, John Perry, Boris Slutsky, Sasha Starcevich and Nelita True. In 2019, Justin appeared as a soloist with the Sacramento Youth Symphony. As a chamber music musician, he has had 1st place appearances at the MTAC VOCE competition (Sacramento Branch) and at the 2017 Chamber Music Competition sponsored by the Sacramento Chamber Music Society.

Justin is the founder and President of his High School Music Society, where he has organized students to perform at senior residences, community centers and various cultural events in Sacramento. He is currently a junior at Franklin High School.
