Apollo Lee | 2nd Prize | Piano | 8th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


 Apollo Lee, 17, is a rising senior at High Technology High School in Lincroft, New Jersey. He began playing piano at age 5 and currently studies with Chiu-Tze Lin. Apollo has won numerous awards and honors including 1st Place in the VIVO International Music Competition, New York Young Virtuoso Competition, and the Bellagrande International Music Competition. He has also been awarded Virtuosi Winner in the National League of Performing Arts (NLPA) Recital Competition, Grand Winner in the NLPA International Young Artists Competition, 2nd Place in the New Jersey Music Teachers Association (NJMTA) Young Musicians Competition, Honorable Mention in the New Jersey Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Senior Performance Competition, and 3rd Place in the Steinway and Sons Tri-State Regional Piano Competition.

Recently, Apollo was one of four pianists in New Jersey selected to perform in a masterclass with Daniel Epstein at the NJMTA Annual Conference. Apollo has performed in venues including the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, the Victoria Theater at the NJPAC, and the Nicholas Music Center at Rutgers University, and his playing has been featured on the classical radio show “Kids on Keys” hosted on WWFM 89.1. As a member of the Bravura Youth Orchestra, Apollo also performs regularly in chamber music ensembles. His group recently won the Gold Prize and Outstanding Performance Award in the IMPACT Young Artists Ensemble Competition and 3rd Place in the Chamber Division of the International Grande Music Competition. This summer, Apollo will attend the Bowdoin International Music Festival, where he will study piano with Matti Raekallio. Outside of piano, Apollo is a member of the varsity swim team and enjoys biomedical research, robotics, and hiking.
