Andrew Lee: 2nd Prize, Violin, Cat.C | 2015


Sixteen-year-old violinist, Andrew Lee, is a scholarship student of Zhao Wei at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Pre-College Division. He is the winner of numerous international and regional competitions. Most recently, he received 3rd place in the New York International Artists' Competition and will perform in June 2015 at Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall. He has also received the grand prize in the 2015 Korea Times Youth Music Competition, first prizes in the Pacific Musical Society and Korean American Music Supporters' Association Competition, in addition to top prizes in the Peninsula Symphony Young Musicians' Competition and CMTANC Competition. Andrew is also an avid orchestra and chamber musician. He has been a first violinist in the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra for the past three years and the SFCM Pre-College Chamber Orchestra. As a part of the Shadowhill Piano Trio, he has also won first prize at the Santa Cruz Baroque Festival Youth Chamber Music Competition.
