Chelsea Ahn began her piano studies at her age of six with Jennifer Mok. Quickly after, she achieved outstanding progress as a young fine pianist. She has received numerous awards, scholarships and invitations to perform. CBC Maritime broadcasted her musical talents on the news in April 2013. Also, in February 2014, Seoul Broadcasting System(SBS) in South Korea invited her to a TV talent shows, Star-King. As she also plays violin and viola, her versatile musical talents were broadcast for 30 minutes. She has taken numerous masterclasses with nationally and internationally renowned pianists.
In 2011
- placed first in the New Brunswick (NB) Federation of Music Festival, competition for junior piano,
- placed first in the NB Registered Music Teachers' Association,
- given the first solo recital at McCain Hall at St. Thomas University.
2012 - placed third in the NB Federation of Music Festival, competition for intermediate piano.
2009-2013 - served concertmaster at the Fredericton Youth Orchestra.
2011-2015 - achieved numerous awards from the Fredericton Music Festival.
2013 - featured at CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) Maritime News.
2014 - featured at SBS (Seoul Broadcast System) Talent Show in South Korea.
In 2015,
- received honorable mention from the Alexander & Buono International piano competition,
- achieved the excellent award in the senior piano from the Fredericton Music Festival,
- placed third in the NB Federation of Music Festival, competition for intermediate strings,
- given the second solo recital at McCain Hall at St. Thomas University,
- placed first at the NB Federation of Music Festival, competition for senior piano,
- performed at the Fredericton Playhouse Auditorium,
- being representative of NB for National Music competition scheduled on August 2015 at Edmonton, Alberta.
