Nikolai Dimitrov: 3rd Prize, Piano, Cat.B | 2015


Nikolai Dimitrov was born on August 31, 2001 in Ruse, Bulgaria. He takes piano lessons from 5 year-old and a 6-year-old studies in the art school at the National School of Arts "Prof.Veselin Stoyanov" in Rousse. In 2008 he was admitted to the exam in a class at the National Art School in the class of Daniela Kyurkchieva. He plays jazz too.

The last year Nikolay Dimitrov had extraordinary success playing twice in one night on the stage of the "Carnegie Hall" in New York in November, won two awards - individually and as a duo, in the International Piano and Strings Competition "American protégé". He holds an annual scholarship of the Rotary Club of Rousse, a member of the club of prominent children of the Dimitar Berbatov Foundation.

In 2014 Nikolay had a concert as a soloist and duo at the Consulate General of Bulgaria in New York, USA, in November 2014, a concert with his jazz trio in the National Jazz festival in Rousse, a concert in Bulgarian cultural center "Haus Wittgenstein" in Vienna, Austria. In 2014 and 2015, he played as soloist and as piano duo with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Ruse.

In 2015 Nikolay had a concert as a soloist in Bulgarian cultural institute in London where performed classical music and jazz. He made his debut at the Royal Albert Hall, in Elgar Room as a winner of the International Piano competition "Grand Prize Virtuoso".
