Nivedita Ravi | 3rd Prize | Violin 2017 | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition

Until 2013, Nivi lived in Chicago, IL, where she studied violin with Ms. Edyta Mrugala and was a member of the performing group, the Magical Strings of Youth, under the tutelage of Mrs. Betty Haag-Kuhnke. As a member of the performance group, she has performed at venues throughout the midwest and the United States. Since moving to New York, Nivi has been fortunate to study with Ms. Elizabeth Faidley. She is a leader in Ms. Faidley’s ‘Violin Choir’ and regularly performs in local amateur orchestras, church choirs, various chamber groups, and her high school’s orchestra. As a member of the Scarsdale High School Orchestra, she has toured Italy, Switzerland, and Cuba. In her junior year of high school, she was selected to participate in the New York All-State Orchestra. Nivi is also the president of the Tri-M Music Honors Society and teaches violin to elementary school children.

Throughout high school, Nivi has performed at the Winners’ Concerts of Young Maestro, Vivo International, Rondo Vanguard, and East Coast International Competitions at Merkin Hall, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall. Her chamber group was selected to perform at Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center earlier this year as well. In the past few years, she performed in masterclasses with concert violinists such as Ray Chen, Stefan Jackiw, Susie Park, Charlie Siem, Vadim Gluzman, and Peter Winograd.
