14-year old classical guitarist Simon Minami is a freshman at Palo Alto High School in California. He started studying under Yuri Liberzon at age 9. He has performed in several guitar competitions and adjudicated festivals and won the Sierra Nevada Guitar Festival in 2013. Most recently, he received honorable mention in the 2016 US Int’l Music Competition and was selected as a semi-finalist in the 2017 Classic Alive Young Artists Audition. He has been invited to perform at the Sacramento Guitar Society Young Artists Showcase in 2015 and 2017. Simon is also a dedicated cellist and an avid basketball player.
