Yosen Wang, 17, attends the North Allegheny Senior High School in the Pittsburgh area, Pennsylvania, United States. He started viola at age eight and has been studying with Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra violist Marylène Gingras-Roy since 2013. Yosen is the Principal Viola of the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra where he joined in 2015. He is also an active chamber music player and has been a member of the Amadeus string quartet-piano quintet for four years, where they perform throughout the Pittsburgh community. They are a prize-winning ensemble, placing in competitions including 2017 ENKOR Chamber Music, the American Prize, Pittsburgh Concert Society, etc. Furthermore, being the 2016 principal violist of Pennsylvania Music Educators Association All-State was a gratifying reward for Yosen.

In addition, Yosen started his piano studies at age 6 at Carnegie Mellon University, Music Preparatory School. He is the winner of the Cincinnati World Piano Competition and performed at Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall when he was 8 years old. He is currently a pupil in pianist Dr. Marina Lupinacci’s studio and was the piano duo winner of the 2017 Pittsburgh Concert Society Young Artists competition.

Yosen has also earned his Master certificate of Tae-Kwon Do and is a fourth-degree black belt. He serves as a junior instructor at his martial arts school.
