Angela Gigi Tsang, age 14, is a freshman at Valley Christian High School in San Jose, CA. She plays piano and violin in the VCHS Chamber Strings Ensemble. Angela started her violin studies at age eight with Mr. Meichuan Song. She received awards from the CMEA State Solo and Ensemble Festival, Golden State Youth Orchestra Solo Competition, and US International Music Competition. She was selected to perform at the 2018 Junior Bach Festival. Angela is the principal of the El Camino Youth Symphony – Senior Symphony 2nd Violin Section for the 2017-18 season. She was the co-concertmaster of the ECYS Sinfonietta Orchestra for the 2016-17 season. Angela was the concertmaster of the 2017 CASMEC All-state Junior High Orchestra and received partial scholarship from Cazadero Music Camp. She was selected to perform in the 1st violin section of the 2018 CASMEC All-state High School Symphony Orchestra.

Angela began her musical journey with piano at age five and received numerous awards in piano from MTAC, SF Chopin, USOMC, USIMC, CAPMT, Junior Bach Festival, and etc. As a first place winner of the American Protégé Concerto Competition, she performed in Carnegie Hall in 2015.

As an active member of the Bay Area Youth Music Society, Angela performs solo, chamber, and orchestra music biweekly at senior centers and has received the President’s Volunteer Service Award four years in a row. Besides school and music, Angela enjoys reading, hiking, traveling and playing tennis.
