Henry Auxenfans, 10, launched his Carnegie Weill Hall debut in May as a result of winning 1st PL at the American Protege International Competition in NYC. He is an avid violinist and pianist contributing at his primary school, local churches, senior homes and libraries. He is currently the Concertmaster of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra (Concert Orchestra), the youngest member of the group, and last year the Concertmaster of CYSO Debut Orchestra. He won the 2018 CYSO Concert Orchestra concerto competition and will play as a soloist with CYSO in the Fall 2018. He also won 1st prize of the Sejong Cultural Society’s violin competition, which resulted in a Chicago Cultural Center performance. Also, he is a repeat 1st prize winner of the Sherwood Music School’s Scholarship Competition, and top prize winner in the Society of American Musician Competition, and the HM with Distinction of the Depaul University’s Concerto competition (the youngest prize winner of 2018 in the senior division). In the past five consecutive years, he was invited to play at the IL Federation of Music Club’s Junior Festival Honors Recitals. Henry studies with Stacia Spencer at the Northwestern University String Academy; he is also a member of the advanced string group of NU. In addition, he is a member of the Plymouth Quartet, coached by Lawrence Newman of Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He studies piano with Laura Fenster.
