Stephen Leou | 2nd Prize | Strings | 4th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Since making his solo debut at age 11 with the Cascade Symphony, Stephen Leou has gone on to solo with numerous orchestras including Philharmonia Northwest Orchestra, Eastside Symphony, and the Seattle Symphony. This year, Stephen was one of 11 cellists from around the world invited to compete at the Johansen International Competition in Washington D.C. He has been featured in live performances on Seattle’s Classical 98.1 KING-FM. Stephen was one of the winners of the 2018 Seattle Chamber Music Society Monika Meyer Clowes Memorial Award where he received private coaching from James Ehnes, Alex Kerr, and Clive Greensmith. Stephen is the winner of the Washington State Music Teachers National Association. He will be the featured soloist with the Everett Philharmonic Orchestra in their upcoming 2019 concert series in May. Stephen has also had the honor of playing in masterclasses for Ron Leonard, Hans Jørgen Jensen, Ray Davis, Richard Aaron, and Ralph Kirshbaum. Stephen studies cello with Leslie Marckx and works with piano collaborator, Li-Tan Hsu.
