Ana Isabella Espana | 2nd Prize | Violin | 6th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Ana Isabella España, age 12, was born and raised in New York City. She began her violin studies at the age of 4 at Opus 118's Harlem School of Music with Lynelle K. Smith. She is currently in the 7th grade at the Special Music School at Kaufman Music Center, a school for musically gifted children. Isabella is currently a member of Face the Music’s contemporary Mikka String Quartet coached by Hajnal Pivnick and the Lucy Moses School’s classical Piano Trio coached by Jacob Ashworth. Isabella has played at some of New York’s most acclaimed locations, including Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, and has performed internationally in Mexico and Cuba. In 2019, her piano trio had the honor of performing at the prestigious Henry Schneider Violin Virtuoso Concert at Merkin Concert Hall. In 2017, Isabella was selected to perform at the Kaufman Music Center Gala in a string ensemble featuring Joshua Bell. She has also been a featured soloist at the Opus 118 Harlem School of Music end of year concert at the Academy of Arts and Letters and the Little Sisters of the Assumption Gala at Tribeca 360. Isabella is also a piano student of Yvonne Lau and has performed at Steinway Hall. In her spare time, Isabella enjoys reading, skiing, surfing, and keeping up with the Los Angeles Dodgers highlights.
