Rebecca Beato | 2nd Prize | Violin | 6th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Rebecca Beato: born in New York City, has always demonstrated a fondness for music, at the age of 2, she used to dance to children's public television programs and play along with the songs on her toy piano. A few years later she was introduced to the violin at the age of 5 at the School for Strings in NYC. Now she is 12 and attends 7th grade at the Special Music School at Kaufman Music Center where she has been studying violin with Mr. Viktor Basis since 4th grade

2016: She was awarded First prize at the Cremona International Music Academy and Competition for Strings in junior category and performed at the winners’ concert at Museo Del Violino Concert Hall in Cremona Italy and also performed at 2016 Composer Festival, Merkin Concert Hall, NYC.

2017: Performed a Bach violin concerto as a soloist accompanied by The Cremona Music Academy Festival Orchestra, conducted by Mark Lakirovich in Cremona, Italy and was chosen to perform at the Kaufman Music Center Gala at Guastavino’s, New York City in a string ensemble featuring Joshua Bell.

2018: She was awarded both First prize and the Gold prize at the Vivo international music competition in New York City, performed in the winners concert at Merkin Concert Hall. Won the First prize at the IMKA international music competition in her age group. Rebecca also won The First prize at Best Wieniawski Performance at Great Composers Competition. She was chosen to perform a concerto at 2018 Kaufman Music Center Annual Gala at Guastavino's NYC.
She also performed at Composer Festival at Merkin Concert Hall and a concerto at Kaufman Music Center String Festival Orchestra Concert.

2019: Rebecca was awarded both the First Prize and the Gold Prize at Vivo International Music Competition and performed at the winners’ concert at Merkin Concert Hall, NYC where she was awarded both the First prize and the Best Performer Award at The 2nd NY Solo Competition at International Music Organization and performed at the winners’ concert at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall on Feb. 1st.

Festival participation include The Cremona music festival in Cremona, Italy and various music programs include String Fest in Kaufman Music Center, and Summer Program at Manhattan School of Music, NYC. Apart from devoting her time to violin practice and performances, Rebecca also enjoys reading, drawing and painting while also maintaining a straight A average in all her classes in school.
