Yejin Song | 2nd Prize | Piano | 6th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Yejin Song, 15, is a ninth grader at The Harker School in San Jose, California. She currently studies piano under Professor Hans Boepple. Yejin won first place at the 2018 MTAC State Piano Solo Competition after winning the 2018 northern regional competition. She placed second in the 2018 SF Chopin Competition and third as a finalist in the 2018 Pacific Musical Society Competition. Yejin also won first place at the KAMSA competition, first place at the Korea Times Youth Music Competition, and other top prizes at MTNA, Marilyn Mindell Piano Competition, Sylvia M. Ghiglieri Piano Competition, United States International Competition, and United States Open Music Competition. She has taken lessons and master classes from notable pianists including Ann Schein, John Perry, and Dmitry Rachmanov. She attended the 2018 John Perry Academy of Music Summer Festival, and for this summer, she was invited to participate in the Southeastern Piano Festival and Music Fest Perugia in Italy. Yejin also enjoys playing chamber music, and her piano trio won first place at USOMC. Aside from piano, she likes to play percussion in her school orchestra and watch baseball.
