Annie Rhew is in 6th grade at Stoller Middle School in NW Portland. Annie began playing cello at age 8 with Hyun-Jin Kim. After just one and half year of learning, she received first place in the 2018 Oregon Cello Society Scholarship Competition and was named the "Student with the Most Potential". She has participated in a solo master class with Jeffrey Butler in June 2018 and with Heather Blackburn in October 2019. Annie is in her third year with the Portland Youth Philharmonic and is currently in the Portland Youth Conservatory Orchestra. Beside cello, Annie's interests include piano, ice skating, reading, art, and sewing.
