Ella Wimbiscus, 8 years old, is a fourth year Merit Scholarship student at the Music Institute of Chicago. Eager to follow in her older sister’s foot steps, she began learning the cello at 2 ½ years old. Her mother is her teacher.

Ella made her solo orchestral debut with the Sinfonia da Camera in September 2019 as a winner of their concerto competition. In addition, she has won 1st prize in the Walgreens National Concerto Competition, Open Division, Early Music Category in 2018, as well as 1st prizes in Society of American Musicians Competition in 2019, and Competition in Honor of Confucius, in 2018 and 2019.

Along with her mother and older sister, who are cellists, Ella enjoys bringing music to the community, especially to those who are unable to attend a concert.

Aside from music, Ella is a budding ballerina, an avid reader, and enjoys swimming.
