Benjamin Luo | 2nd Prize | Piano | 7th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Eleven-year-old Benjamin Luo, a fifth grader who hails from Apex, NC, began his piano study with Florence Ko at age five. Since then, he has competed in various piano competitions and garnered an impressive array of awards. He won first prizes in the RPTA Young Artist Audition Young Artist 1 Division, in NC Federation of Music Royalty Competition, in International Great Composers Competition “The Art of Piano” and “Masters of Piano Concerto”. He won the Judges' Distinction Award and first place in American Protégé Music Talent Competition in 2016 and won first place in American Protégé Concerto Competition in 2017. Benjamin won American Fine Arts Festival Concerto Competition in 2019. He received the first prize award in Josephine Bunch Sande Scholarship, Maxine Taylor Fountain Scholarship, and Norma Alexander Scholarship of NC Federation State Competitions in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Benjamin has performed at Carnegie Hall multiple times. He is the 2019-2020 MTNA NC State Winner, Southern Division Winner and National Finalist. In addition to excelling academically at school, Benjamin enjoys building with LEGOs and playing video games.
