Jonathan Park (16) is a pianist, flautist, arranger, and composer. He currently attends Dublin High School, in Dublin, California.
Jonathan began studying piano performance under Dr. Mihee Lee in the fall of 2017, and since then has received numerous awards including: Outstanding Gold Medals for both the 2019 and 2020 season of the United States Open Music Competition; Panel Honors for the 2020 Certificate of Merit (CM) Panel Convention by the Music Teacher's Association of California (MTAC); finalist for the 2019 Junior Bach competition; and 2nd place for the 2020 Korean-American Music Supporters' Association (KAMSA) competition.
He is also the principal flautist for the Dublin High School Wind Ensemble (the school's premier wind band), and serves as flute section leader for the school band's marching season in the fall.
Jonathan realized his passion for composition in the winter of 2016, and has since then written a diverse repertoire for classical and contemporary ensembles, including wind band, classical concerto orchestra, string sextet, piano duet, marching band, and jazz fusion bands. His piece 'april' (2020) was scheduled to be premiered by the DHS Wind Ensemble as part of their spring program, but failed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jonathan also enjoys songwriting, photography, and art.
