Meining Wu | 2nd Prize | Piano | 7th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Meining Wu is a 10-year-old pianist and a 5th grader at Stratford School, living in San Jose, California. After starting her first piano lesson at the age of 6, Meining has been studying with her current teacher Kai Chi Zhu for 2 years. She has won top prizes at numerous piano competitions since then, including the 1st Places at KAMSA Competition, Music Legacy Open Competition, US New Star Piano Competition by Composer, International Music Competition Great Composers Series Best Rachmaninoff and Best Hayden Performance in 2020, the 2nd Place at 2020 Marilyn Mindell Piano Competition, and Finalist at 2020 Pacific Musical Competition. In 2019, she won 1st Places at the US Open Music Competition, the US International Open Music Competition and the US New Star Piano Competition. At the 6th Annual Talented Young Musician Olympia Competition, she won the Grand Prize and performed at Carnegie Weill Recital Hall in April 2019. Besides playing piano, Meining also loves art. In 2019, her art work won the Grand Prize at state-wide art contest with over one thousand contestants. Her other hobbies are horseback riding and swimming.
