Nancy Zheng | 3rd Prize | Piano | 7th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Nancy Zheng, 16, is a sophomore at Leland High School in San Jose, California. She has been studying piano with Mrs. Kai Chi Zhu since she was five years old.

In 2018, Nancy made her solo recital debut at the Century Club of California in San Francisco. As winner of the concerto competitions, Nancy has performed with the El Camino Youth Symphony Senior Orchestra (Golden State Youth Orchestra) and the Palo Alto Philharmonic.

Nancy has won first place at the Marian Filice Piano Competition (Junior and Senior), first places and outstanding Gold Medalist awards at the US Open Music Competition, first place in the US New Star Piano Competition, first places in the Great Composer Competition Series, and other top prizes at the Sylvia M. Ghiglieri Piano Competition and US International Piano Competition.

Last summer, Nancy participated in the Boston University Tanglewood Institute (BUTI) Young Artists Piano Program. Inspired by the service events she took part in at BUTI, Nancy founded and now serves as the president of her school’s Music Club, where she coordinates student performances at local senior centers.

Aside from music, Nancy enjoys writing for her school newspaper and dancing Chinese folk dance at a competitive level.
