Shaun Koumans | 3rd Prize | Violin | 7th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Shaun Koumans, age 13, is from Irvine, CA. He started learning violin at age 6. Shaun won 1st Place for the 2019-2020 Saddleback College Concerto Competition, and the Judges Distinction Award for the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition for the year of 2019. He also won 1st prize of the Student Jury and 2nd prize of the Professional Jury Board for the GLORY International String, Wind & Percussion Competition in 2019. He was the Grand Prize winner for the Satori Strings contest in 2018 as well, and has won many awards from the Southwestern Youth Music Festival competitions. Shaun is also an active orchestral player and has been playing at the Pacific Symphony Santiago Strings (PSSS) since 2017. He is the co-concert master of PSSS 2019-2020 season. Shaun also participates in the Pacific Symphony Santiago Quartet. He currently studies violin under Eunhee Kim.
