Sophia Louie | 3rd Prize | Violin | 7th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


Sophia Louie is a ninth grader at Westwood High School in Austin, TX. She started playing violin at the age of eight and is currently studying with Dr. Alexander Serafimov. She has won numerous competitions including first prize in the 2019 Blackerby Young Violinists Competition, second prize for Great Composers Competition, The Art of Strings, first prize for GCC best Beethoven performance and Starlight Symphony Orchestra’s 2020 Young Artist Competition. She is a currently a member of her high school's Symphony orchestra and has performed at the International Band and Orchestra 2019 Midwest Clinic. In addition to violin, Sophia is an accomplished pianist and has won several competitions including first prizes in the Austin Solo Contest, first place in the Schedler Scholarship competition, second place in the 2019 Baylor/Waco Piano Competition and first prize for the 2019 Steinway Junior Piano Competition. As well as playing and performing beautiful music, Sophia enjoys dancing, running, swimming, travelling and listening to music.
