Amy Palm, from California, started playing cello when she was nine and currently studies with Lila Yang. Amy has won numerous top prizes from the Diamond Bar Performing Arts Contest, Satori Strings Grand Prize Competition, Southwestern Youth Music Festival, and the American Protege International Strings Competition. She has previously performed with the IUSD Honor Orchestras, SCSBOA All-Southern Orchestra, California All-State Orchestra, Pacific Symphony Santiago Strings, Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra, and Honor Orchestra of America. Amy served as the All-Southern Orchestra’s principal cellist for two years, and principal cellist for the Honor Orchestra of America for one year. Additionally, she performs throughout southern California as a cellist with the PSYE Octet and Vivace Chamber Orchestra. Her community involvement includes the Koncerts 4 Kause organization, providing seniors with memorable musical experiences, and the Back to Bach project, an international project to inspire music education for children.
