Joshua Choi | 2nd Prize | Strings | 6th Edition | ENKOR Int'l Music Competition


 Josh began playing the cello at the age of 7. Now, Josh is a sophomore attending Homestead High School in California. Currently studying under Dr. Katie Youn, Josh has been the principal of the cello section in the Golden State Youth Orchestra and plays in the Senior Symphony. He has placed first in American Protege International Music Talent Competition, second in the US International Open Music Competition, and was a finalist for USIMC. An active member of Bello Ensemble, he also raises money for local organizations through many performances. This year, Bello Ensemble held the COVID-19 Relief Virtual Concert to raise money for the people affected during this pandemic. At school, he is the class secretary, won awards as an FBLA competitor, and is a member of the National Honors Society. Outside of school, he is very involved in his community. He is a volunteer leader at AMASE, where he helps teach students with special needs music and art. In addition, he helps middle schoolers explore their interests in the science field as a member of the STEAM Teen Advisory Council.
